Double Celebration order for ‘Local Little and Large’ – Two Moorland business success stories.
Cottage Delight celebrates record sales with special cake order from us here at Cupcake Cafe!
The Cupcake Café and Bakery has just marked its first birthday – but owner and baker Jessica Hawksworth, has not had time to bake her own business birthday cake because she has been too busy filling special orders including a bulk order to create handmade celebration cup cakes for each and every member of staff at Cottage Delight of Leekbrook.
A great local success story, internationally renowned purveyor of speciality foods Cottage Delight is celebrating the achievement in October of its highest ever month of sales of over £2 million.
Chairman of Cottage Delight Nigel Cope says -
“I am so proud of the achievement of our team. In times of recession and with so much disruption to the local infrastructure it is great to see that demand for Cottage Delight products continues to grow.
I could think of no better way of saying well done and ‘thank you’ than by commissioning special cakes from the Cupcake Café and Bakery for each member of my team.
I founded Cottage Delight in 1974 at the time of the three day week, raging inflation, world wide stock market crashes and recession. Jessica also bravely launched her business in the face of the latest recession and through a combination of skill, determination and hard work she and her team produce a fantastic range of food and cakes, and she has already created 4 jobs!
She has really made a great start in business and I am delighted that the Cupcake Café can help Cottage Delight in celebrating our success”.
Well it has been a long year for all of us here at Cupcake Cafe but we are super pleased to say we have been officially open for 1 whole year!
In that time we have been on local radio, had a feature in a national magazine and appeared in some local publications.
We have also gone from jobs we didn’t enjoy or feel we’re right for us to being able to do what we love for a living in a town on the up with great local businesses filled with wonderful people whom we have got to know!
So really we want to say a massive THANK YOU to our families, friends and all of our awesome customers and friends at Totally Locally who have made the past year possible, sustainable and fantastic!
As our regular customers may have noticed from the posters on the walls. We will be closed for one week from 03/09/2012 until 09/09/2012 as a result of a wedding in the family.
More specifically between the owner Jessica’s brother Ben and fiancée Hannah! Therefore we are making the most of the opportunity and having our first days of since we opened! We are all very excited indeed!
Anyway, as of 9th September normal service will be resumed or as we like to think of it… Spectacular service will be resumed!
For our opening hours just head to here!
Well this blog has been somewhat neglected over the last few months but something exciting has happening that has prompted me to actually sit down and write something.
A few weeks ago we were contacted by Love Baking magazine and asked if we would like to feature as part of there coverage of UK Cupcakeries. Needless to say we were super excited by this and sent over pictures and some text for the article and yesterday the issue featuring us was out in shops all across the land!!!
We can be found on page 46 as part of the “6 Cupcakeries” feature alongside 5 other fine looking businesses from all over the place.
Now I have tried without luck to find a website to point people in the direction of but I did come across the Facebook page for the magazine which can be reached by clicking here!
